Choosing the Clothes, Part 2

JCPenney is great with separates, so I knew most of the looks would be a jean, skirt or short paired with a special top. It was only a matter of choosing!

Decisions, Decisions! This tank ended up not making the final cut.

Next, I begin to mix and match what I have pulled by either dressing a mannequin (not so easy in heels!) or laying the clothes out on the floor. Here I can take pictures to remember what looks I have created. T o keep the looks original, I try not to pick things that are too matchy-matchy. I like my looks to be a little unexpected and quirky. Also I try to not be afraid of pairing bold colors together. Hot pink and orange is one of my favorite color combos!

Putting jeans on the mannequin - somebody hold her steady!

Laying options out on the floor - the prep n plaid look is coming together.

After I styled twelve outfits, Anna and I picked our favorites. Then came the fun part - accessorizing! From gold bangles, to over-sized sunglasses and plaid sneakers, I went wild. I am a firm believer that accessories MAKE the outfit. My favorite piece? A shimmery pastel colored woven scarf - perfect for those chilly classrooms!

Goofing off with all the accessories. See you at the shoot!
